Harper’s Bazaar magazine joins the Tommy Bahama design team for a fashion show presentation in honor of the 1930’s fashion icon, former Vogue fashion editor, Mrs. Babe Paley.
Tommy Bahama VP of Women’s Sportswear Design, Dominic Sabella, tells Jesenia’s Goodie Bag the entire Tommy Bahama Summer 2014 Collection was inspired by the textures and colors from Babe Paley’s summer home in Round Hill, Jamaica. Everything from the beige sands to the turquoise ocean and coral sunsets was implemented into the Tommy Bahama Collection.
Tommy Bahama’s Women’s Swim Specialist, Lissette Marquez, gave Jesenia’s Goodie Bag a list of Tommy Bahama summer items one should pack in their luggage. The surfer-friendly rash guard was one, along with a boyfriend shirt, and a poncho for breezy days or tropical sunsets.
Harper Bazaar’s Executive Fashion & Beauty Editor, Avril Graham, lists for Jesenia’s Goodie Bag her Tommy Bahama summer picks of linen neutrals (in white and tan) for what she calls a “well-traveled look,” while adding touches of blue and leather accessories.
During the fashion show presentation, Avril Graham, Dominic Sabella and Lissette Marquez took turns decoding each fashion style and sharing their expertise for each look.
Body-conscious fashion rendered unlimited possibilities, taking the wearer from a swim to lunch & dinner. Comfort and style came to life in a beige poncho matched with a coral tank top and white linen pants.
The casual elegance of a beige broom stick skirt was dressed with a crisp white tank, braided leather belt and graphic print neck scarf.
Effortless chic oozed from a perforated three-tone maxi dress.
Island swimwear was equally exciting. Styles were proportioned to flatter various sizes with easy back-ties and prints that reinforced an underlying sex appeal.
The tropical ease of a woven fedora lined up perfectly with a boyfriend shirt and graphic print bikini, while the surfer-coolness of a rash guard coupled nicely with amplified coral bikini bottoms.
Towards the end of the fashion show presentation Jesenia’s Goodie Bag Editor was gifted a Tommy Bahama woven & leather canvas bag filled with wonderful summer goodies, like the organic goodness of COOLA liplux and sunscreen, a plush tropical print Tommy Bahama beach towel, the fruity blossom essence of Tommy Bahama fragrance for Women, and a copy of the May Issue of Harper’s Bazaar, featuring supermodel legend Kate Moss.
