Date: October 5. Venue: Bush Terminal – Brooklyn, NY
Angela Brejt crosses the pond from Central Europe, leaving her native land of Poland to showcase an artful collection for Fashion Week Brooklyn. Hosted by Lauren C. Mayhew and sponsored by Elucid Magazine, Fashion Week Brooklyn makes another successful return to Brooklyn’s fashion scene, bearing a goody bag filled with Mario Badescu skin care essentials, styling tools by True Indian Hair and a trial membership for Equinox fitness.
During a backstage interview with Jesenia’s Goodie Bag, Angela reveals her collection derived from Mexico’s Lucha Libre. Seven months in the making, this visionary prospective of a colorful Luchador mask was carefully translated into a pair of lycra pants, high waist skirt, swimsuits and dresses in bustier, girdle and maxi style. In keeping with the Lucha Libre spirit, Angela incorporated complimentary garments, a patent mini bustier, neon green mesh top, crisscrossed suspenders and a Power To The People Fist t-shirt. Race car fans enjoyed the checkered jacket, and a smoker’s delight with a cool cigarette-themed puffer skirt dress. Boundless and unique is the imagination of Angela Brejt. That special bond she shares with women’s clothing is undeniably insync with modern woman. Her punkish brand Trash is neither damaged nor discarded. Motivated by musical greats and fashion icons, as Grace Jones, Vivienne Westwood, Iggy Pop and Beth Ditto, Angela concocts a desirable, unorthodox, vegan ready-to-wear collection that’s never mass-produced. Her custom-made graphic apparel is fashionably fun, catering to all shapes and sizes, including maternity.
