Shiseido Celebrity Face Designer Edward Cruz returns for a pre-summer exclusive to demonstrate his approach to fresh, glowing skin and haute lips.
Edward tells Jesenia’s Goodie Bag mauve colored lips are all the rage now, as one Shiseido team member showcased Lacquer Gloss (in Nebula) on her lips. Although lavender-purple from inside the tube, the formula actually works to enhance lip’s own natural tone, translating into a dewy, multi-faceted pinkish color once applied.
Using Sheer Eye Zone Corrector to contour the face, Edward applied (Natural Ochre) as a highlighter and (Warm Beige) to mimic skin’s own color and recommended this summer-friendly skin-enhancer versus cakey powders.
Adding a healthy dose of glow, Edward introduced Face Color Enhancing Trio (in Peach) to the apples of the cheeks. The 3-in-1 blusher (in beige, nude and peach), literally cut the makeup application process in half; a technique that Edward says is precisely what Shiseido Makeup had in mind. It’s like having Luminizing Satin Face Color in Star Fish (peach-apricot), Soft Beam Gold (illuminating gold) and High Beam White (pearlescent white) simplified in a nifty compact.
To accentuate the lips, Edward lined them with Smoothing Lip Pencil (in Mahogany) a neutral soft plum and proceeded to paint inside the lip’s bow with Perfect Rouge Lipstick (in Fuchsia) an intensely rich, hydrating color. The two-toned lip effect made for an amazingly jaw-dropping fusion of color.
Edward’s favorite summer trend is fusing lip liners with lip balm to create summer-fun colors that are transparent but long-wearing.
To complete the look, Lash Expert Melinda Sarabia added individual lower lashes to the upper lashes and swept a few coats of long-lasting, smudge-free Perfect Mascara Defining Volume, creating dramatically lush lashes.
Addressing skin care, the Shiseido team presented Jesenia’s Goodie Bag Editor with a four-piece set of Future Solution LX. The famously patented skingenecell 1P formula works to improve skin’s barriers, helping to resist wrinkling and sagging with natural, effective extracts that prevent cellular damage and fortify collagen, while floral hints soothe and refresh.
Extra Rich Cleansing Foam clarifies skin’s surface, while Concentrated Balancing Softener conditions and tones.
For daytime use, Total Protective Emulsion protects the skin from harmful UV rays, and for nighttime use, Total Regenerating Cream continually works to support skin’s order while you sleep, waking up to a more resilient you.
