Anna Wintour’s favorite design duo, CFDA winners & Public School founders Dao-Yi Chow & Maxwell Osborne make their first public appearance after launching their Spring 2015 P.S. Fashion Show, to unveil their newest Black Apple capsule collection.
Hosting the Black Apple event was Details mag Style Director, Eugene Tong, who tells Jesenia’s Goodie Bag he loves the use of sweat material in Black Apple, a relaxing variation of P.S. aesthetic.
Eugene’s favorite Black Apple pieces are the noir-colored leather front vests and light grey sweat shorts.
Dao-Yi tells us Black Apple is a loungy mix of chill fashion that’s stylishly comfy, while the P.S. collection remains a dressier alternative to laidback-cool.
Maxwell reveals the inspiration for their P.S. Spring collection, inspired purely on deconstruction, a method the designers have mastered.
Black Apple featured a smoky palette of contemporary greys and traditional blacks. Sleeveless lycra tops, monochrome prism-themed t-shirts, one and two-toned long sleeve shirts, chunky hoodies and cargo-styled sweat pants.
P.S. garments also included two-toned long sleeve shirts with a dapper mashup of flannel, crisp-white button-downs, stripped ribbed buttoned sweaters, raw denim, supple leathered jackets and refined tweet coats.
As a special gift, guests went home with a compilation of Black Apple – Black In The New York Groove Music CD, produced by Dao-Yi and mixed by DJ Clark Kent. The CD holds 62 tracks with an impressive blend of musical greats like Alicia Keys, Aretha Fraklin, Beastie Boys, Biggie Smalls, Fleetwood Mac, Frank Sinatra, Grandmaster Flash, Jay-Z, Lil Kim, Mobb Deep, Nas, Rakim, Rick James, Smith-N-Wessum, Wu Tang Clan and many more.
