Frankie B Hollywood wears on the hips of many of our favorite music artists. Once founded by the wife of former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, the label has since underwent new creative management with a relaunching by designer Chadwick Bell. Chadwick (undeniably handsome as he is fascinatingly fashion conscious), whipped up a collection that is youthful, refreshing, yet completely nostalgic, highlighting Rock n’ Roll’s best eras, from the 70s loose-fitting tuxedo suits to the 90s cool kids street style. Chadwick reveals to Jesenia’s Goodie Bag his collection inspiration, which he says are the black and white images of Nicholas Alan Cope’s architectural designs, entitled “Whitewash.”
Bedhead, bare-faced models emerged, wearing neck chokers (some with tassels), and blackened manicures, in a monochrome palette with bursts of earthly colors in silver, blush and sand, in crepe and satin chemises, lace crop tops, cotton tees and weave tunics. A plethora of bottoms included everything from boy shorts to culottes, skirts (flared, zipped, tulle, pleated and leather), high-rise skinny and tapered boy-fit denim, and suede moto and leather tuxedo pants.
Blazers were glorious in double-breasted, zippered and tuxedo styles. A line-up of covet-worthy outerwear included fringed gilets, classic moto vests, and jackets in buttery leather and denim variations. Shoes were equally impressive, with pointed leather loafers, and ankle strap heels. Menswear was on-trend with cotton tanks and tees, indigo skinnies, gabardine tuxedos, twill bomber jackets, and canvas sneakers.
