Just in time for the Chinese Year of the Earth Dog, world renowned Nuyorican Master Pet Couturier Anthony Rubio returns to New York Fashion Week with another critically acclaimed show. Doggie couture fashioned in 18th century styles, a cloak cape overcoat with antique gold applique cuffs and a white lace top hat with floral accents. Black velvet pieces were lavishly adorned with Byzantine inspired jewel detail. Royal designs remained a dominate theme, with gold foil bejeweled capes and egg shell linen showcasing ruby, diamond and pearl clusters. French girl chic monochromatic tweed was re-imagined with metallic, crystal mesh and an extravagant tiered train. Indonesian designs popped in a sparkling, long, ikat fringe jacket, boasting an exquisite color combination of iridescent gold, cornflower blue, blackened rose gold and champagne.
Womenswear married perfectly with Rubio’s pet fashion. Anthony played with color schemes, transitioning from pewter blues to shimmering pinks and scintillating grays and blues. Impressive styling included confetti applique gowns, carefully curated beading, gemstone and floral detail, and exquisite pleat, voile, baroque patterned and lustrous fabrics.
