Public School design duo Dao-Yi Chow & Maxwell Osborne continue to thrill fans with their luxe streetwear and atheisure style. Introduced as a fashion installation, co-creator Dao-Yi tells Jesenia’s Goodie Bag the PSNY Script unveiling celebrates their most successful archives, while incorporating vintage material into the brand’s DNA. A step into the future of global conscientiousness, the label has transcended into eco-friendly production. The design team found their inspiration from a quote pulled from the pages of the 1938 book Land of the Burnt Thigh by Edith Eudoro Kohl that reads: “A piece of ground that belonged to them, on which they could plant their feet, permanency,” to which Public School responded and began their perpetual intervention of defining fashion’s future.
The collection included classic styles, from pocket shirts to striped button-downs and washed blue denim button-ups, with a revamp of crew neck sweaters from crinkly to striped, pale lilac to all-black. Men’s bottoms were super comfy, ranging from drawstring shorts to track pants, militarized multi-pocket cargo pants and loose slacks.
Sneaker enthusiasts will enjoy the swoon-worthy PSNY x Nike hi tops. Deconstructed blazers were dapper and functional in multi-pocket, double-breasted and pinstripe styles. Adventurously fashionable hooded zip-up bomber jackets and parkas featured cargo fabric and waterproof technology. Zip vest backpacks were reinvented, mirroring dress shirts and sports coats.
Women’s apparel made a brief appearance, a denim jacket paired with a white t-shirt, navy trousers and PSNY x Nike high tops. Dao-Yi tells Jesenia’s Goodie Bag the jacket was created using Levi’s.
