Self-sabotaging thoughts, if left unchecked, can escalate and affect your mental health and physical well-being. The energy we manifest is contiguous, able to bounce off good or bad vibes to those near you. Overcoming negative thinking habits takes time and practice. Daily dedication to positive affirmations can improve mental clarity, emotional stability, and help reduce stress and anxiety.
A playful way to get your positive affirmations going is by drawing animal energy. Animals are often sought after for companionship and emotional support. Studies have shown animals improve the lives of their owner. You don’t necessarily need to own an animal to harness its spirit. Perhaps there is an animal species you are fond of, what traits do they have that draw you to them? There is so much we can learn from an animal’s profile, from its history to its characteristics, habits, behavior, even its diet. The goal is to humanize the animal, find traits about that animal to empower you.
A great way to embody an animal’s energy is through flashcards, copy and paste images of animals that resonate with you, and create a list of all the things you find attractive about them and how that translates into your daily life. Their intelligence, their relations to others in their group, how they lead their lives and nourish their bodies. Meditate, connect and embody those traits. Some examples to help you brainstorm: be clever like a snake, protective like a bear, perceptive like the eagle. Start with three words that define the animal, then work your way up. Use those same words and apply them to yourself ritualistically, as you embrace positivity and speak motivation into your life.
