Date: August 13. Venue: Banana Republic – SoHo

Banana Republic and GQ magazine joins forces to host a men’s fashion styling event, with GQ consultant Brian Ellingwood.
Likes the pages of GQ magazine, Banana Republic tantalized guests with visual effects that included bespoke cocktails, covet-worthy fashion and styling tips from GQ Style Experts.

Three Banana Republic items every man should own, as told by Brian Ellingwood, are the slim grey suits from the Heritage Line, an iconic black motorcycle jacket, and sleek double monk strap shoes, preferably in natural suede and in any color preference.

Formal wear were given an unexpected twist: suits paired with cotton shirts and oxford-like leather sneakers, black slacks with varsity jackets, chambray shirts and a weekend bag, and suede double monk strap shoes with leather jackets and denim pants.

Casual Fridays just got a little more interesting with tweed sweaters matched with chambray shirts, denim pants and dashing leather shoes. Other staple pieces included light hoodies and several denim washes.

Grooming clients with customized products were the gentlemen-preferred Fellow Barber.

Servers at the mini bar refreshed guest’s palettes with cocktails by Knob Creek. The genuine, rich flavor of Knob Creek dates back before the Prohibition period, in original Kentucky Straight, Single Barrel Reserve, Rye, and Smoked Maple.
Knob Creek is not just a bourbon whiskey it’s a lifestyle, with dozens of recipes, from cocktails to meats, sauces and seasonings.

Inside the August issue of GQ magazine Editors demonstrate ways to incorporate motorcycle pants to your office attire and weekend look, sprucing your suit & tie, pairing your statement watches with updated accessories, grooming tips, and a fashion editorial of suits with juxtaposition athletic-wear.
