New York based Romanian-born designer Alexandra Popescu-York is an artist at heart, building her fashion collections around human figures, celebrating a woman’s God-given curves, embracing sensuality and creating designs that are both classic and glamorous. Her luxury pieces are custom fit with her client’s lifestyle in mind.
For her Spring collection, models evoked the Roaring 20’s with smokey eyes, flawless faces, lacquered lips and finger wave hair with floral headpieces. Dresses showcased in jewel-tone and precious metal. Craftsmanship spoke volumes in metallic antique gold fabric with halter, semi-sweetheart and straight across necklines, corset and wrap style, cinched waists, with crucifix applique and black tulle accents. Champagne gold shimmered in a v-cut number with a beaded waistline, plunging backside and thigh high side slit. Earth-tone two-piece gave working girl vibes, while snakeskin jacket dress gave cocktail hour. A pop of whimsical appeared in a white feathered dress. French girl chic debuted in puritan and pointed collars, flowing satin, oversize jewel buttons and perforated sleeves. Kid’s wear made a brief appearance in snakeskin vests paired with all black ensemble.
