[MEETING THE CEO]
HAYAN MERCHANT: “Navitus Parfumes began 7 years ago, we are very blessed to work with the best perfumers around the world. When I met Victor, we really wanted to create a collaboration that spoke the right language for Victor’s design philosophy, a nice fragrance that speaks to him, his clients and audience, creating a high quality fragrance that is fresh, inviting and warm, so that it acts like a second skin, very comfortable and easy to wear, sourced by high quality ingredients from several places in the world. When you look at the breakdown, it’s a beautiful presentation that speaks to the design language and color palette that Victor loves to work with. Smell it and enjoy it. Try it on your skin, because smelling it on a piece of paper won’t do it justice. With fragrance, depending on your eating and drinking habits, they do act differently on the skin. So as a side note, tea and coffee drinkers, it’ll react differently.“
Chanel perfumes are only 3% oil versus “Splendeur Absolu” which is 25%. Mr. Merchant tells us, “You will see the oil concentration is infact there.” The fragrance hosts a range of popular notes to attract a broader audience with a free-flowing scent that’s also gender fluid. Its molecular structure boasts over 90 elements of complexity, creating levels of luxuriousness. Mr. Merchant advised, the best way to assess this fragrance is to try it on the back of one’s hand, which he applied generously, and throughout the day to notice what notes begin to surface. During my assessment process, I initially noticed citrus, spice, and a hint of rum, but later on, notes of musk rose to prominence. Mr. Merchant also revealed French Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour to be the mastermind of not only “Splendeur Absolu,” but also 80 other Navitus Parfums.
