Remembering Pre-Fall 2010’s Most Valuable Designers

Nothing says winter like a new fur coat. The weather is steadily dropping. Most of us have already unpacked our winter essentials and/or are out buying an entirely new set. In this new blog installment, we will look back at Pre-Fall Collections from our most beloved designers and incorporate these looks into the ones we’ve already prepared for Fall.

CHANEL: We are simply mesmerized by the classic tweed suits, the elegant shift dresses and leather leggings assemble.

DKNY: Chanel-inspired jackets paired with dress shorts (to be worn over opaque tights), winter-white trench, casual dresses, slouchy trousers and satin pants.

EMILIO PUCCI: A mix of classic and new; mongolian fur coats (think Black Grizzly), wool capes, evening shorts, leopard peep-toes, black-suede strap-shoes and signature patterned mini dresses.

GIVENCHY: The winter palate came in four must-have colors; ivory, black, beige and gray with a subtle hint of olive green. Highly versatile pieces with outerwear that include capes, trenches, parkas and jackets paired with wool, leather, ivory bottoms and t-strap maryjanes.

JUST CAVALLI: Three looks you should have in your closet; a leopard dress, a mongolian fur coat (think of the children’s classic Where The Wild Things Are or the Christmas classic The Abominable Snowman), and a leather jacket with serious hardware, then throw in a good pair of gold-black strappy shoes. Just Cavalli presents this so effortlessly.

MOSCHINO CHEAP & CHIC: Two looks inspired by Chanel, the famous tweed jacket, both long and short, to be worn with just about anything—- seriously.

PREEN: Earthly, fashion-forward and rocker-chic. The satin mini dress (in gray) looks great alone or over a pair of either black leather pants or rubber leggings. Preen’s patent-leather skinny-pants work well with tunic tops and boyfriend blazers. Slit leggings should be worn in dark hues and in good taste (as shown here) with a subtle outfit, so the leggings can standout.

RAG & BONE: Bringing it to the streets with cropped tops over longer blouses, mesh shirts tucked in open sweaters and blazers, long leather tanks and metallic rubber jackets.

ROBERTO CAVALLI: Elegance meets The Wild with fur vests, laced suede boots, satin tops and bottoms, animal prints galore, fur shrugs and scarves, wool ponchos and lace.

STELLA McCARTNEY: This fashion house can do no wrong! Camel hues in wool, sequin leopard, black lace, beige & gray tones and metallic paisley.

VALENTINO: Lipstick red; it’s bold, it’s daring, but it should be in every woman’s possession. Red is forever. Valentino makes a statement with his signature color in leather pants, platform boots, lace, tights, the famous red dress and a rain trench, mixed with some black assembles and a gorgeous chestnut-tawny fusion fur coat.
