The importance of outerwear is parallel to what you wear underneath. Here we have designers with niche for the cold and a radar for good style.
GIAMBATTISTA VILLA: This collection is very current, show-casing the latest in fashion. First slide displays a stunning taupe dress. (Chanel created an equally flattering nail lacquer; “Particuliere.”) A Mongolian fur coat is very much in season, smaller versions include a Mongolian fur jacket. Worn together or singular, fur sleeveless tops and skirts continue to resound as far into Chanel Fall 2010.

J. MENDEL: This look is effortlessly chic; olive green wool trench with Karl Lagerfeld-inspired driving gloves and highly-in-demand black-suede booties.

LANVIN: This jacket sold out same-day at select H&M stores. Now eBay sellers are auctioning this beauty to the highest bidder. The jacket (a black-n-white Mongolian fur) bares a striking resemblance to the Christmas classic “The Abominable Snowman,” but I guess that’s why we love it so much.

MISSONI: I simply love this tweed trench. With a London-look like this, you can wear it to death.

REEM ACRA: Remember Samantha Jones’ show-stopping red jersey dress (with spiked shoulders) featured in the Sex In the City 2 movie? Celebs like Rihanna, Adam Lambert and even Kristin Cavallari have all partaken in this trend. Reem Acra creates a subtle version you’ll be sure to wear again and again.

TIBI: Tibi gets it right with an embellished jacket, cropped trousers and pointed heels. The cropped tuxedo-ish (gray-black) layered jacket is more than just unique, it’s actually super-wearable, definitely a must-have! And the metallic jacket paired with the white sheer dress is extremely versatile, so feel to wear it from season to season!
