Date: May 3. Venue: EVR NYC
Situated in the Midtown West was a 2 level celebration of the Arts (courtesy of Herbert Fox Productions). First level (amidst an 80’s graffiti art décor) housed the film crew from Director Ari Taub’s 79 Parts, a hilarious comedy starring Eric Roberts and Sandra Bernhard.
Simultaneously, in the upstairs level was the Alexandra Popescu-York Dangerous Florals: Spring Extravaganza art exhibition, with live body painting on two models using pigmented colors in fuchsia, neon pink, purples and monochrome. Alexandra merged the idea of the modern man and woman into the visual expression of the orchid flower, “…perfect in structure, emanating a complex sensuality from the blossoms with an exploding wild energy.” –Alexandra Popescu-York
Also on display was Alexandra’s painted portraits, an abstract art collection from bluish, black and sea green, to florals in pinkish, purples and yellows, and embellished pieces in blues, reds, yellows and aqua blues. Jewelry by Nancy Martinez made its rounds, boasting a radiant collection of black beading, pearlescent pinks, while others gleamed in purples, blues, greens and yellows. The festivities did not end there, as Jesenia’s Goodie Bag continued the night at South Village’s Greenhouse USA, enjoying bottle service and VIP treatment from her favorite nightlife party animal The White Monkey.
