Date: October 3. Venue: SAKS Fifth Avenue (New York) + Soho Grand Hotel (Club Room)
GQ magazine sure knows how to throw a party, with their double celebration special for Stockholm’s greatest fashion treasure, J. Lindeberg. The J. Lindeberg launch party at SAKS Fifth Avenue brought in a bevy of suited gentlemen, most notably Ryan Serhant (Bravo TV: Million Dollar Listing New York) and Steven Rojas (Social Media Director for GrandLife Hotels NYC). The complimentary October issues of GQ magazine literally flew off the shelves. Actor Justin Theroux graced the cover, featuring an insider look into his cool fashion style, Bel Air chicken farm and love of all things artsy.
Indulging light conversation was Jessy Heuvelink (J. Lindeberg: Head of Design), impeccably dressed in a black blazer, white pocket scarf, minimalist tee, navy pants and studded Louboutin loafers. He shares with Jesenia’s Goodie Bag his favorite J. Lindeberg 2013 Autumn/Winter pieces; the camouflage suit, quilted nylon outerwear bomber and printed shirts. For the Spring/Summer 2014 collection, Jessy discloses a teaser-bit of color range, metallic use and a bug inspiration. Investment pieces Jessy swears by are a wool dress coat and lace-up boots with ingrained leather.
On display was an unsurpassed selection of J. Lindeberg menswear, with colorful chunky knit sweaters (burgundy in particular), sharp pinstripe, pale blue and grey diamond button-downs, navy trousers, grey slacks and a classic black blazer. Exceptional outwear included a camel coat, olive-green honeycomb patterned parka (with fur collar) and an equally chic navy colored one. Signature suits in slim tailored-fit, made of virgin wool with 2 button feature and double vent back, for a great silhouette. A brand built to encompass Johan Lindeberg’s personal sense of style and creative integrity has emerged into a 35 country establishment, earning a Swedish ELLE Designer of the Year Award and worn by A-List actors such as Brad Pitt. By mixing fashion and function with traditional tailoring and modern details, J. Lindeberg appeals to the modern man, for great comfort and style without losing professional value. J. Lindeberg caters to the off-the-rack consumer as well as the bespoken clientele with a made-to-measure line of 70 different suit fabrics, 200 shirt fabrics and 30 coat fabrics. Clients can choose fabric, model and suit cut, with 3 shoulder types, quantity of buttons, back vent style, pocket style and hand-sewn buttonholes.
The after party (promoted by Sebastian Puga) was at the regal Soho Grand Hotel, reeling in music mogul P. Diddy, along with the uber-talented DJ Marcus Ullmarker, turning a progressively enchanting playlist.
