Date: May 30. Venue: Ernest Alexander (SoHo)
The best of both worlds in one space as M.M. LaFleur unveils its Trunk Show inside the Ernest Alexander shop. Amongst the sea of mass production, cheap labor and disposable fashion, Ernest Alexander stands out with a more traditional approach, returning Men’s fashion to the basics with the use of first-class fabrics and meticulous attention to detail for a garment that is everlasting. One should note that all Ernest Alexander products are made right in New York City, with each cent going right back into the economy, from ties to pocket scarves and button down shirts, in solid or patterned, flannel or tartan, pastel or earth tone, deeply hued shoe laces by Hook + ALBERT, Men’s canvas or leather bags, richly colored in gray, brown or black, and classic-style dark denim jeans.
Sarah LeFleur is a corporate professional on a mission, bringing other business women a fashionably functional wardrobe. Tired of the banal rut of bland suits, Sarah partnered with Miyako Nakamura (Women’s Designer for Zac Posen and Jason Wu) for a season-less collection of excellent work-wear, made from Italian and Japanese fabrics with custom color options, designed right in New York City’s Garment District.
A wonderful mix of highly crafted shift dresses, wrap dresses and blouse-skirt combos named Narie, Lydia, Sophia, and Sarah (to name a few) in tasteful celadon, cinnamon, lilac gray and charcoal, puts M.M. LaFleur at the top of the desirable office-friendly fashion. Other unrestricted colors include sea-foam, peacock-blue, Mayan red, aubergine and celadon.
