Date: December 20. Venue: Vanity Projects
Home to a collection of sought-after polishes from Dior, Deborah Lippmann, RGB and Floss Gloss, with a revolving supply of trending accessories, video art displays to the sound of popular music, and pedicure stations fully equipped with headphones.
The latest issues of Nail It! and Lucky magazine both feature Vanity Projects, with its constant housing of in-demand international and national nail artists. Currently residing as a permanent resident is Destinee Handly, who specializes in fabric nail art and editorial set nails for photo shoots. This former Cali girl has worked with many industry professionals, most notably the heiress turned fashion icon Daphne Guinness and the RM Road Trip for fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff.
Destinee reveals to Jesenia’s Goodie Bag her experience with Daphne Guinness. Like an astronaut preparing for deep space, Daphne Guinness prepares her life encounters using fashion as a protective suit of armor in her inner galactic world. Taking elements from Daphne’s character, Destinee was able to custom create a personalized manicure for the heiress with mineral Pyrite over metallic pewter colored tips. The Pyrite stone (as legend has it) is a fire energy used to protect oneself from negativity.
Some of Destinee’s top nail lacquers are temperature-changing, metallic and gel, while also favoring textured nail themes. Future collaborations on Destinee’s list: an LA-based beauty-shoot in May with Nail Swag, these ladies will be serving up some serious textured manicures.
During an intense mani session, Destinee’s client revealed a set of hands dawning dark polish, faceted rhinestones and gold strand embellishment.
