Date: February 20. Venue: Saks Fifth Avenue – New York

A gentlemen’s evening with Details magazine and Dolce & Gabbana for the Martini Suit unveiling, hosted by Adam Braun.

The Classic Martini, one part gin, followed by one part dry vermouth, an olive for garnish, in a chilled cocktail glass. This distinguished drink was the cocktail of choice in The Roaring Twenties & Thirties. The popular fictional British Secret Service agent James Bond often ordered his martini shaken, not stirred.

Dolce & Gabbana took the timeless allure of the martini drink and captured its essence in their Martini Suit creation. The slim lapel silhouette Martini Suit is your universally flattering go-to suit for any given occasion. It takes you from the office to cocktail hour seamlessly. Choose from black, navy or grey and pair with an array of collared shirts, bow ties and neckties. Dolce & Gabbana featured some cutting-edge polka dot collared shirts, bow ties and neckties, and Oxford shoes in calfskin and pony hair.

Also trending at Dolce & Gabanna, casually cool varsity jackets in black or silver and quilted design, and cotton t-shirts with images of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Mohammad Ali.

The March 2014 issue of Details magazine features a style segment on The Working Wardrobe with everything you need to know about suits, shirts, shoes, watches, grooming, tailoring, travel, and much more, and a special interview with power suit creator Giorgio Armani.

Saks Fifth Avenue endorses philanthropy, and as part of a generous offer, proceeds from the Martini Suit Event were donated to Pencils of Promise, a charity organization run by Adam Braun. Pencils of Promise are responsible for building schools and increasing access to education in developing countries, with over 200 schools in Ghana to date. Beginning March 18th (available for pre-order) is Adam’s new book The Promise of a Pencil: How an Ordinary Person Can Create Extraordinary Change. This book chronicles Adam Braun as he left his post at a Hedge Fund corporation and with just $25 dollars to kick-start his charity was able to make a difference 1 pencil at a time.
