United for Puerto Rico

On September 19th, 2017, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, reaching over 3,000 deaths and over $90 billion dollars in damages. For months the 45th White House resident illegally withheld $8 billion dollars in disaster relief, funds that were designated by Congress to the island, while disparaging residents using racially charged language and mocking their suffering with paper towels. Celebrities like JLo, Marc Anthony, Alex Rodriguez, Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, Nicky Jam, Chayanne, Daddy Yankee, and Fat Joe donated to victims and encouraged fans to do the same. Bad Bunny distributed food, water and generators in his hometown Vega Baja, and celebrity chef José Andrés along with 19,000 volunteers went to Puerto Rico, serving over 3.5 million meals to victims. A little over two years and the island is still in dire need of our support.

During a visit to Tannserville Pennsylvania, El Rincon Caribe stands as the best Puerto Rican restaurant in the Poconos, with its signature home-cooked style familiar to Puerto Rican households. From succulent rotisserie chicken to fall-off-the-bone roast pork, hearty beef stew, fried sweet plantains, and savory rice and beans, with your choice of sinfully delicious tres leches or decadent flan, there’s something for everyone. Enjoy your stay, but on your way out, be sure to grab a United for Puerto Rico T-Shirt, 100% of the proceeds go directly towards relief to Puerto Rico.
