[A WORD FROM ADORE ME FOUNDER AND CEO]
“My name is Morgan Hermand, Founder and CEO of Adore Me. Just for a minute, I’d like to take you back ten years in time. Adore Me started a few blocks away [from the Edison Ballroom], so a New York Fashion Show means the world to us, because we are literally born in New York City, in the garment district. Today we have a hundred million in sales and over 600 employees, but if we go back in time, we had one room, which was the size of the end of this runway, and no window in the garment district, and if we go back in time ten years, Barak Obama was President, the iPhone was just few years old, and Victoria Secret was dictating what beauty should be like, and that last one didn’t really feel right, so Adore Me was born from the dream that fashion can be inclusive, empowering, and inspiring, and so in 2012 Adore Me was the very first company to launch a full range of products, from petite to plus, in every style, for everyone, and if we go forward, Adore Me has been the first brand in doing many things, the first in making intimate apparel affordable and in doing home try-on for that category we needed so much, and little by little we saw the competition being inspired by what we did, and today, the largest brand in the U.S. started to also add more sizing to their range, and so, it’s very good for us to see that the impact of what we do goes way beyond the frontier of our company, and impacting the fashion industry is really what we look forward to do, and today inclusivity is more a part of this society. There are a few things we fight for; sustainability is one, we want to make fashion an industry that is inclusive, empowering and aspiring, but also clean, and so Adore Me is one of the very first brands in the mass market to make fashion sustainable, and we look forward to more of that.
New York Fashion Week has been a rollercoaster for all of us, and to star in a fashion event in the last two years,– and what’s best than being in -person today to celebrate new York Fashion Week all together? I have fifteen girls behind me that are a little nervous, and fully represent what we stand for, showing you our latest collection, so hopefully you enjoy it, and hopefully you can help me celebrate them, celebrate women, celebrate society, celebrate being a good citizen, whether its personally or as a company, thank you very much.”
