Date: April 11th Venue: Vartali
During Bridal Fashion Week, Victor De Souza presented a bespoke collection of bridal wear. Hairdo’s featured center parted finger waved chignons coupled with side bows, a laced ruffled headband, pearl birdcage bridal veils and other veil hairpieces. Romantic makeup looks included smokey eyes with frosted tear ducts, rosy cheek contour and dewy pink lips. Charming jewel pieces sparkled; timeless dangling diamond and coin earrings, and choker pendants dressed in silver and pearls.
Curated bridal attire emerged in a soft color palette of varying shades of white, nude, even chartreuse. Garments were crafted in luxurious textiles, subdued prints, fanciful needlework, and touches of shimmer. Dresses styled to include cropped and corset tops with closed, zipped and laced backs, also baby doll and wrapped fronts in a range of spaghetti strapped, capped and long sleeves looks. There were pops of plunging necklines and cinched waists with delicate decor. Dress skirt lengths ranged from midi to evening, tiered, flared and flouncy, with rippling shapes and billowy long trains, matched with white flats, kitten heels, and high heels. Exquisite separates cut to perfection; my favorite, a two piece pant suit, its blazer cinched and doubled breasted with pearl cluster buttons, and paired with ankle pants. For the finale, a showstopping metallic and lace gown graced the runway.
