Chanel Pre-Fall 2012: Beauty, Accessories and Apparel

For most of us, Winter 2011 is still in effect, although some of us are already enjoying Resort 2012 on a sunny island. Karl Lagerfeld is happy to announce that he is well into next winter with his latest Pre-Fall 2012 collection, comprised of an East African, Parisian and Bombay fusion. These looks are just too tempting to wait until next Fall to wear.

Model Daphne Groeneveld is wearing Chanel signature pearls, but in an elegant headpiece with gold & white diamond accents. The headpiece pairs nicely with a bohemian-chic dreadlock up-do. Smoky eyes give a sultry appeal, while the headpiece offers a royal touch. Cheeks are slightly pinkish and lips remain natural with a hint of balm.

Other models sport a fanciful gold-mesh headpiece adorned with gold pearls, pyramid stones and an earring cuff attachment.

Not all models bore the dreadlock look, other textures were straight, tied loosely into a messy chignon. Smaller bejeweled headpieces fell over the forehead. Other royal accents included extravagant nose-ring chains.

Other ornamental headpieces bore more intricate design with dangling chain-effects and ear cuff attachments.

Breath-taking neck pieces, an Empress bib necklace followed by a smaller bib version and a choker pendant necklace.

Smoky-eyes, jewel headpiece and natural makeup really nail the head-scarf look.

Karl Lagerfeld and his iconic use of finger-less gloves; just like a Chanel handbag, it will remain timeless. Karl even added a new twist with finger-less chain-mail Indian hand-jewelry gloves.

While some of us would love to own a credit-line-free credit card to charge up a season’s worth of Chanel Ready To Wear, we must think realistically— this recession is pretty bullet-proof. As economically conscious Fashionistas, let us use this collection as a basis for our own creative spin.

Look 1: Metallic-tweed bejeweled-button dress with pearl-chain accents and leather leggings.

Look 2: Bib necklace, layered colored pearl chains, boyfriend shirt, a loose Capri, loose pants and sandals.

Let’s be honest, no matter how much I break this collection down, nothing beats watching the runway video. For those with limited time, I provided a 3-minute teaser, but also included an option to view the entire runway video. Enjoy!
