Date: December 11. Venue: SAKS Fifth Avenue (New York)
The elevator door opened on Level 5 to a festive welcome at the Alice + Olivia shop. Designer Stacey Bendet enjoyed light conversation, while model-type busboys served small bites and cocktails. Fashionistas were of plenty. For the night’s event Alice + Olivia collaborated with the Mayor’s Fund to Advance NYC, actively assisting victims of Hurricane Sandy with sale’s proceeds.
A Fall/Winter collection of classic and contemporary designs, brocade, holiday sparkles, draped dresses and colorful leather. Mannequins highlighted the best looks: a neck-tie blouse with a structured leather skirt, and jungle green 2-tier evening dress. The flapper girl gets a modern makeover in a loose sequin shift dress, and the undisputed popular tweed is revamped in a two-tone grayish black & sparkle cowl-neck coat. Beetlejuice inspired open-toe wedge and an alluring pair of snake-skin pumps in cool cobalt-blue. Other Ready To Wear pieces came in winter-red, snow white, black noir, dark gold, an array of grays, and the most comfortably seductive jersey-leather combo’s.
