Date: January 15. Venue: Bang Bang Tattoos

What I am about to tell you is oh-so epic! Jesenia’s Goodie Bag Blog followers already know I’m an avid fan of the House of Chanel. Those who know me personally also know I have an imaginary family relation with Karl Lagerfeld, because in my mind he is Uncle Karl. I’ll elaborate more on that in a minute.

I absolutely love Rihanna, so it’s no surprise I went totally gaga over Rihanna’s tiny tatts, done by the insanely talented tattoo artist Bang Bang. @BangBang
When Trish Summerville for H&M: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Collection @GirlWDragonTatt arrived in the U.S. Market, I practically bought the entire collection. Watching the American adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo inspired me to get more body piercings, but it wasn’t until I saw Rihanna’s tiny tatts that I decided to get a tiny dragon tattoo, a complete dedication to the Stieg Larsson saga.

I met with Bang Bang for a consultation, showed him my inspiration and he agreed to make the dream a reality… which now brings me back to Chanel. On the day of my tattoo appointment, sitting in the waiting room was none other than Baptiste Giabiconi, the muse of Chanel. I’ve often made jokes to close friends, flirting with the idea of taking my NY-based runway wardrobe assisting to Paris and dressing the likes of Baptiste, and here he was, right in front of me, waiting to see a tattoo artist from Bang Bang’s studio. Needless to say I made myself right at home with the famed model. He was equally charming in person as on-screen, his transparent beauty; unparalleled, a truly remarkable person.

So here we are, Jesenia (JGB Editor) getting her first ink by renowned tattoo artist Bang Bang and a chair away was the iconic super model Baptiste Giabiconi also getting inked, the calligraphy words Jesus imprinted on the frontal shoulder side of his chest. I couldn’t dream this up any better, even if I wanted to. From exchanging glances to admiring each other’s newly added artwork, it was all too surreal.

Upon leaving the shop, I gave my last goodbyes to Baptiste. The warmth in his eyes and kisses were all very compelling. Bang Bang also received lots of love for breathing life into a very amazing tattoo. Rihanna’s hit song Diamonds played over the speakers, the perfect end song to a great experience.
[Special thanks to Paul Maldonado (cameraman) and Xerxes Goldin Throne Vizcaino for sticking out his recorder in the event I would cry during my tattoo process]
