Date: May 5. Venue: AMC Theatre (Times Square – New York)

Cast members spent Cinco De Mayo in Times Square for the red carpet première of L.A. Slasher. The movie, which stars Danny Trejo, Andy Dick, Mischa Barton, Eric Roberts and Dave Bautista, is a Crime/Comedy that parodies reality stars, sensationalized news, and an L.A. Slasher who brings the media and public to an epiphany about what we classify as relevant.

L.A. Slasher Producer Daniel Sollinger tells Jesenia’s Goodie Bag Editor reality TV is polluting television channels and strongly believes reality TV producers are responsible for exploiting their stars. Script Writer Abigail Wright agrees with Daniel, and recounts an experience she had at Starbucks, where she witnessed a group of teenagers taking selfies and realized how acceptable narcissism really is. Likewise, actress and script writer Elizabeth Morris feels reality TV is detrimental to teens and contributes to their feelings of inadequacy. She hopes one day the reality TV trend will cease and shares how the tabloid trend even affects the UK Royal Family, as Kate Middleton’s newborn is already under the media scrutiny.
