During New York Fashion Week Men’s, menswear designer Rafael Aguirre hosted a SoHo district industry-only soirée for his RalphyPablo label. Guests enjoyed indie pop music and Luc Belaire, as dewy-faced models with Axl Rose tresses posed for photographers, dressed in Supra footwear and metallic accessories by CHRISHABANA.
The 10-piece capsule featured Rafael’s signature button downs, a slouchy bold sweater, and an array of trouser styles. Outwear was street-conscious with zippered satin, color blocking bomber jackets, and neutrally toned wool pea coats. The collection was gentlemanly with touches of rock and roll.
Rafael tells Jesenia’s Goodie Bag Editor he was inspired by his desire to marry 50’s classic man with the youthful energy of modern men’s fashion. He explains how his own father was the physical embodiment of Clark Gable, a fashion icon and the sole energy that drives his collection. When asked to choose one item from his collection that all men should own in their closet, he recommend his button down shirts for their versatile styling factor.
