Date: Wednesday, February 13th. Venue: Spring Studios
Arriving to the United States nearly 38 years ago, beloved fashion designer to the stars Zang Toi paid tribute to the country he calls home with a patriotic collection.
In keeping with nostalgic themes, models hair featured Old Hollywood sculpted waves, WWII inspired red lips, and glamorous winged eyeshadow. Tri-color palette featured the American flag’s red, white and blue, while navy Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars paired down with playful styles. Toi delighted his audience with hand-beaded heiress chockers, cascading necklaces, and oversize cross earrings and fabric applique in white diamond, pearl, sapphire and ruby.
Denim blue color block and monochromatic separates showcased throughout. Formal wear presented fur lining, kimono sleeves, turtle neck styles, long cardigans and dress pants. Dresses flowed in pleats, ruffles and rich velvet, with a showstopping one shoulder American flag themed dress. Outerwear was chic and classy, floor length mohair and cashmere capes with fur accents. Men’s suits made a brief appearance in varying navy styles with jeweled applique.
Wearing a stunning halter dress, television personality Marla Maples sat in front row among other media personalities, her friends and loved ones.
