Said to have been once home to a reclusive family (the Haydens) in the seventies is now an escape room and haunted tour for those looking for a good spook. Live actors unexpectedly emerging from darkened corners, secret doors, and windows will have you hollering the entire tour. Onsite props make for great selfies, and popup shops for quick bites like funnel cakes and fried Oreos, or handpainted dolls.

This Hilton Honors hotel is intimate, comforting, and within walking distance of Madison Square Park. Grab a cup of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and pastry of your choice at Caffe Vergnano. Visit the High Line, Chelsea Market, and a host of shops and eateries.

With restaurants opening and shuttering throughout the West Village, there’s one diner that stands the test of time. La Bonbonniere serves up some unforgettable blueberry pancakes. Come early and be prepared to wait, lines can get pretty lengthy quickly. Eat mindfully, waitstaff won’t rush you. Cash only dining, so bring some 20s and singles.
