Date: February 9th Venue: Room&Board (NYC – Chelsea)
Victor De Souza delighted his audience with a Victorian meets baroque inspired collection in a vibrant color palette soft blues and warmer hues in royal yellow, earth tone and maroon, sprinkled with touches of classic black & white. Hair looks in up and down pouf styles with bow accessories and a striking 1950s fascinator headpiece. Makeup invoked 18th century French aristocrat vibes with bright eyes in powdered blue and muted pink coupled with peachy pink cheeks and lips. Timeless statement accessories included gold dangling and mini hoop earrings, chained choker with a jewel beetle pendant, and acrylic cuff bands.
So much attention to detail, tops showcased in billowy, belled and corset styles with jewel beetle ornaments, center and side slits, cinched waists, buttoned and buckled fronts, pleated and puffed hemlines, with lace and dress shirt underlay. Midi and mini skirts featured suede, floral and dotted print, some with high waist, deep pocks and loin cloth design, paired with sheer stockings and spotted ankle socks. Other separates included dress shorts and ankle pants.
Dresses displayed hooded looks, fringe and ruffed collars, gold and mirrored embellishments, overskirts and gathered backsides, accented with zippers and hook & eye closures. Regal suit jackets and outwear elevated an already magical collection with hooded cloaks, hourglass silhouettes, romantic ruffles, puffs and folds, tri and quadruple gold enamel double breasted buttons and jewel beetle fasteners and pockets.
Coveted shoes galore, pointed slingback kitten heels and flats with decorative fronts in a range of tropical, metallic and rich colors in satin, suede, canvas and leather.
