Inspired by international nightlife, a jet-setting collection by Reem Acra took center stage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. From daytime dresses to gala event extraordinaires, ultra-rich colors roared down the runway in poppy red and vibrant orange, followed by sought-after houndstooth and dotted prints. Hand-draped, body-skimming biased cut and tiered fabrics lay in abundance in metallic-gold, liquid-silver and lame, luscious trains of chiffon, silky charmeuse and soft panne velvet.
Makeup guru Pat McGrath concocted a wildly juxtaposition of effortless high glamour, paired perfectly with Didier Milage’s nostalgically captivating Studio 54 heyday hairstyle.
The Reem Acra collection told a story of disco balls, club music, haute couture and the timeless beauty of Mick Jagger’s Bianca Jagger, Jerry Faye Hall and Georgia May Jagger.
Reem Acra’s vision lay poetically in line with her philosophy of creatively marrying modern style with traditional concepts.
