Date: Thursday, September 14th. Venue: Macy’s – Herald Square
Anna Sui closes New York Fashion Week with Macy’s INC International Concepts. Hosted by fashion insider Joe Zee, Sui opened up about her collaboration capsule collection inspiration, naming Janice Joplin and Rock & Roll. The Macy’s exclusive “Anna Sui Loves” fashion fall collection presentation showcased countryside fashion with bohemian chic and cowgirl styles. Anna’s bi-color western shirt is a perfect combination of lace, floral and fringe, (a sweater version was also included). Pipe wide-leg pants added a dash of class. Crochet accented three quarter sleeve kaleidoscope peasant styled smock dress was youthful and feminine. Fun and flirty floral embroidered a-line lace dress made a splash, while retro, camel toned bell-sleeve top with zip-up floral print mini skirt make for great wardrobe separates as it does as an outfit.
The Anna Sui fragrance bar featured pixie dust inspired concoctions. Unicorn bottled Fantasia is seductive with notes of pink pomelo, orange flower and golden cypress. Fairy topped Secret Wish is captivating in sparkling lemon, black currant and sensual amber. Meant to inspire, Lucky Wish is refreshing with yellow freesia, tangerine and peony. La Vie de Bohème is for risk-takers, memorizing Turkish rose oil, dragon fruit accord and magnolia.
Anna signed autographs of her coffee table book The World of Anna Sui. Written by The Business of Fashion Editor-At-Large Tim Blanks, the book details Sui’s legacy as a fashion connoisseur, her expertise at reviving vintage and sourcing the best textile prints, including a behind-the-scenes look into her creative process from within her design studio.
