If Cyndi Lauper’s song “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” were a fashion line, this would be It. Girls Chronically Rock designer Keisha Greaves attributes her fashion inspiration to the whimsical design queen Betsey Johnson. As a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Keisha specializes in adaptive fashion; apparel that makes it manageable for those who lack mobility to dress up. GCR has also been featured on Good Morning America and Today, to name a few.
Hair and makeup presented our all-time favorite looks, from tousled curls to pulled back styles, chocolate smokey eyes, with lip colors in pinks and reds. The capsule collection’s color palette was a universal favorite of whites and creams, soft pinks to Barbie pinks, gold tones, denim blues, animal prints and classic black. An updated twist to vintage inspired leopard swimwear. Crop t-shirts in graphic print, sleeveless and fringed. Form-fitted tops included bodysuits. Complimentary separates displayed in two-toned cardigans, a furred vest, timeless tweed jacket with jeweled buttons, and a metallic bolero jacket.
We enjoyed the array of skirts in lace, leather and knit, fashioned into skorts with side slit and pleating. Other bottoms included lace leggings, cropped, shredded and fringe pants with waistlines cinched and bedazzled in wide belts and clasp detail. Hints of gold and lots of pearl graced the runway in double strand necklaces, neck ties, body chain and belted looks. We loved the use of cat-eye and oversize sunglasses, along with embellished headscarves and sequin captain hat. Strap heels were sleek and elegant. Menswear made a brief appearance in a playful captain hat, denim button down, animal print shorts and canvas sneakers.
