Date: January 30. Venue: Intermix – SoHo

Showcasing her Summer 2014 Collection was Parisian diva Barbara Bui as she joined Intermix founder Khajak Keledjian for his flagship store reopening. Fashion blogger Bryan Boy stood in attendance, pulling select Barbara Bui collection pieces from off the rack and reminiscing with the designer about their last trip to Istanbul.

Barbara Bui reveals to Jesenia’s Goodie Bag her creative approach for Summer 2014; producing casually chic style with denim and delicate whites, accompanied by her signature leather. Supple, quilted zippered Moto jackets shone brilliantly in orange-red, nude, snow, pastel yellow and pale blue. Fashion-forward footwear dawned in Scottish Oxford, and a bit of punk flare with studded, perforated open-toe booties, thong sandals with studs and belted boots. Snake skin double strap handbags were elegantly crafted in monochrome and baby blue, and her use of varsity jackets and high top strap sneakers were undeniably cool.

Bryan Boy (wearing an embroidered multicolored jacket, blue fur stole and over-sized clutch bag), shares his fashion-styling philosophy with Jesenia’s Goodie Bag, “Follow what you love,” he declares instinctively, “Be true to yourself. Fashion should be individualistic. It is better to tailor pieces around one’s personal style, than to have a style wear you,” he voices reassuringly.
Guests enjoyed the contemporary beats of DJ Chrissie Miller as they sipped Moet & Chandon champagne and sampled bites of delightfully flavorful, candy-colored macaroons.
