Date: September 11th Venue: Prince George Ballroom
Toussaint Lea showcased a charming capsule collection during New York fashion week. Models wore slicked back hair, neutral smokey eyes, contoured cheeks, and petal pink lip tint. Manicured hands were nude and white. Statement jewelry included icy chokers, dangling, hooped and gemstone studded earrings, even a crystallized floral brooch.
A soothing color palette of soft pinks, rich plums, sweet lavenders, ocean blues and hints of neutrals. A Joan Crawford style trench coat dress made headlines, belted, buttoned and belled, among a backdrop of velvet and satin dress variations. Coquettish dress cuts lured eyes in off the shoulder styles, plunging and v necklines, subtle sleeve variations, and a leg lengthening side slit. Hemlines were mostly mermaid, some ruffled. Impressive attention to detail with floral applique, sparkle accents, baroque texture and vivid prints. Complimentary evening bags shined under bright lights. Completing the looks were a range of dress shoes in metallic, leather and velvet.
Menswear made a brief appearance in a red and black baroque print tuxedo jacket, coupled with a bow tie and classic dress shirt, satin pants, laced loafers, and a crocodile duffel bag. Even Toussaint Lea designer made waves in a burgundy velvet jacket, also sporting a bow tie and button shirt, with slim fit pants, Oxford shoes, and a bold face watch.
